To me the only character recognizable on the poster is Taryn (Jennifer Rubin), who carries a pair of knives as in the film.

The poster was done before the movie was completed. They probably gave the artist brief descriptions of the characters before they were cast. This is my favorite of the ''Nightmare'' posters.
