Cheesy, yet dynamic. So many signifiers in here, but it doesn't look overly forced. I think it's strength lies in the heavy shadows and hair guiding the flow from top left to bottom right. Interesting how the golden sky blends into the musculature. The motion blur on the hand is totally superfluous though, IMO, and would ultimately keep it off my wall. Also, I'm not sure about the flag - seems like a clumsy afterthought in the design.
