Wow. This entire lineup of posters are so TWISTED and BIZZARE, I'd think that theaters won't show it, and is anyone suprised that the controversy for these posters hasn't started yet. I mean, people reacted to the 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' posters pretty quick...

The posters are certainly graphic but I would think squarely in the horror movie tradition (without pretending to any special expertise). For some reason, the picture with knife and head seems evocative of 1950s B-movies.
Anyway, I think they are very effective, assuming the goal is to attract ticketbuyers for a horror film.

This is a GREAT! poster. I really like that vintage look to it, adds a cult film feeling to the picture. excellent lighting.

This probably reminds you of a 1980s poster because it is the exact same poster as a 1980 horror film called Maniac.
