Why Revolutionary Road?

One of the most boring studio posters, ever. Is it a requirement for romance films to be dumb and simple? If love is the greatest inspiration (or so says Shakespeare) and these films are motivated by that feeling, why all the boring white space and indifferent photography? The names aren't even aligned to the faces (and I know that the ''biggest star'' is supposed to be first - from left to right).
