How ignorant movie viewers are of literature and pulp fiction. The Van Helsing of the movie is a rip off of Robert E. Howard's Puritan hero Solomon Kane. The real van Helsing (Stoker's) isn't even close to the Hollywood version of Van Helsing. Hence, why people believe Solomon Kane movie is a copy of Hollywood Van Helsing when it isn't.

further...the BG is a comp and they added a little more rain and fog but most of the rain in the shot is the real thing...watch the film you'll see how much time we spent working under those miserable rain spinners and towers, in the middle of the Czech winter.

Well your wrong about that Bev...this was not a studio shot...it was not set up ...it was taken on set on an exterior location just before the first take of a scene under special effects rain towers...James was just standing there getting his costume wet before we rolled...I took took frames and then we rolled cameras.

Looks too set up. Studio lighting is obvious. Just looks like they added some rain and called it a day. This is so close to being good. Just didn't bring it home.

Solomon Kane is like Van Helsing but is from a comic book

Solomon Kane's trademark puritan hat, cape and dark clothing were described by Robert E. Howard when he invented the character in the late 1920's, about 75 years prior to the ''Van Helsing'' film. Van Helsing's wardrobe was inspired by Solomon Kane, not the other way around.
