Tried to put aside my feelings/prejudices about the films themselves, and just judge the posters on their own merits. A lot of these seem really derivative of each other - the blockbuster posters all look like each other and the indie movie posters all look like each other. Even where there's good artwork involved, the title fonts/placement of the text tends to be very samey. Pity some of the films I liked this year are represented by uninspiring artwork - The Neon Demon and Embrace of the Serpent come to mind. PS: I haven't seen four of the five films advertised in my picks. They just had the coolest posters.
