I remember a classmate way back in High School English
class who gave a speech on fire extinguishers, then one on underarm deodorant,
and finally, a fascinating discussion on toilet paper. For some reason
Rob Schneider's recent films seem to have reminded me of that. Here is
his latest work of immaturity, The Hot Chick, with a typically immature
poster. Can't imagine anyone wanting that on their wall. [From
Poster
Image Archive.]
Also from Poster
Image Archive comes alternate posters for Disney's Treasure Planet
as well as The Recruit. Finally, from JetLi.com
and Empire Movies comes the one
sheet for Cradle 2 Grave starring Jet Li and DMX.

From Movie
Poster Warehouse comes a number of new posters: Below, Pokemon
4Ever, Between Strangers, and the unusually titled Naqoyqatsi.
Nothing too exciting here except for the final one which is the third in
a series following Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi. Just an
average Joe crash test dummy waiting by the roadside.

Here is a first look at the poster for the upcoming Al
Pacino / Colin Farrell film The Recruit. The film was originally
titled The Farm and scheduled for release this year but has now
been bumped forward to January of 2003. Thanks to Steve for the image.
Thanks to MovieMeter.nl,
here is a slightly better quality scan of the one sheet for Analyze
That,
the sequel to Analyze This
with Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal reprising their roles.

Two slightly belated updates today for some much anticipated
sequels. First of all we have the very simple design for X-Men 2.
A little too simple for my liking. The logo should not be the most important
aspect of your marketing campaign. Besides, I'd almost think it was a poster
for "What's Behind Door #2: The Movie". Next, we have a second poster for
The
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers which seems a little too reminiscent
of one of the designs for Tim Burton's Planet
of the Apes.

Poor scans have been available from eBay for the last
few weeks, but JoBlo.com
has finally managed to come up with a good quality poster image for the
new Colin Farrell film Phone Booth.
Several other better quality additions include:
The Hours starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman,
and Julianne Moore
Brown Sugar starring Taye Diggs and Sanaa Lathan
Antwone Fisher directed by and starring Denzel
Washington

From FilmForce
comes the poster for Ripley's Game, which continues the story of
Tom Ripley from The Talented
Mr. Ripley. This time the lead character is played by John Malkovich.
The poster looks pretty innocent at first, until you notice the dead body
holding a gun lying on the stones to the right. Perhaps Mr. Ripley is not
just taking a leisurely stroll out in the rain.

Three new posters to start you off on the weekend. From
Poster
Image Archive comes National Security starring Martin Lawrence
and Steve Zahn as well as Half Past Dead starring Steven Seagal,
Morris Chestnut, and Ja Rule. Is it just me or is this poster a little
reminiscent of last year's The
Fast and the Furious? Meanwhile, Seagal's images on the posters
seem to keep getting smaller and smaller... Want proof? Check out the progression
of Steven Seagal's posters.
And from FilmForce
comes the somewhat cheesy looking poster for Auto Focus starring
Greg Kinnear and Willem Dafoe. And are they purposefully trying to hide
the fact that this movie is about the life and murder of Hogan's Heroes
star Bob Crane?

Several new posters from Empire
Movies. The next chapter in Ice Cube's foolish Friday
series: Friday After Next, Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson in the espionage
comedy I Spy, and finally, the only truly original poster of the
bunch, Jack Nicholson in Alexander Payne's About Schmidt. We were
told that Jack would be looking his utmost worst in this role, and the
poster certainly confirms that. A very simple design for the poster, but
what a look for this poor fellow! From this poster, one could call the
film As Bad As It Gets.

After a teaser poster featuring naughty
stuffed animals, the final one sheet for The Rules of Attraction
(from Poster Image Archive) is just
as unusal. Lets hope the movie is as original as the posters.
Thursday, August 29th, 2002
From LatinoReview
comes the poster for Imagining Argentina starring Antonio Banderas
and Emma Thompson.
Wednesday, August 28th, 2002
From Movie
Poster Warehouse comes a better quality image of the teaser for The
Santa Clause 2. Once again we have a movie trying to come up with catchy
initials for itself. "Oh yeah man, you gonna go see SC2 this year?"
Personally, I think is poster is very frightening.

From Jamesbond.com
comes the remaining character posters for Die Another Day. A rather
boring lot, with the exception of Zao. Not really worth the effort of all
the individual posters.
Friday, August 23rd, 2002
Die Another Day has decided to go down the well traveled
road of issuing various character posters for their film. Dark
Horizons has the first look at bad guy Zao (played by Rick Yune).
Thursday, August 22nd, 2002
From Poster Image Archive
comes the beautiful poster for Treasure Planet and from Rotten
Tomatoes comes the rather lame one sheet for The First $20 Million
is Always the Hardest (the title is a whole lot funnier than the poster).
From UIP
Netherlands comes the poster for the Kevin Kline film The Emperor's
Club. For some reason I am comparing this to the poster for Dead
Poets Society and feel as if this new poster just doesn't say anything.
The prof just said "everybody raise your hands" from the look of it. Big
deal. It's as if they just grabbed an image at random from the film to
show Kevin Kline.
Saturday, August 17th, 2002
From Empire Movies
comes the poster for Igby Goes Down starring Kieran Culkin, Claire
Danes, Jeff Goldblum, Amanda Peet, Ryan Phillippe, Bill Pullman, and Susan
Sarandon.
Thursday, August 15th, 2002
If images of stuffed toys in compromising positions is
a little too much for you, then you may wish to avoid the teaser poster
for The Rules of Attraction.
Wednesday, August 14th, 2002
From Empire Movies
comes a rather intriguing poster for 8 Mile, starring Eminem and
loosely based on his own early life. Directed by L.A. Confidential's
Curtis Hanson, the film also stars Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and Brittany
Murphy.
Monday, August 12th, 2002
From Dark
Horizons comes news of the poster for Boat Trip, Cuba Gooding
Jr.'s latest attempt at destroying his career.
Sunday, August 11th, 2002
From Empire Movies
comes the one sheet for White Oleander. This may be just one of
those "show the faces" posters, but what a set of faces. Oddly enough,
the adorable Renee Zellweger comes across as the least memorable of the
four.
Saturday, August 10th, 2002
From the official James Bond site comes the second teaser
for Die Another Day. Not nearly as interesting as the first teaser,
this one seems to just be trying to say "look, we've got Halle Berry!"
Of course it is odd that they would show her face so prominently and not
mention her name. Has more of the feel of fan art than an official poster.
The movie may already be in the theaters, but here is
the international poster for M. Night Shyamalan's Signs starring
Mel Gibson. Also, the poster for Jonathan Demme's new film The Truth
About Charlie starring Mark Wahlberg, Tim Robbins, and Thandie Newton.
I especially like how they emphasize the "lie" in Charlie.
Wednesday, August 7th, 2002
Two new posters today. From Rotten
Tomatoes we have the poster for the new Antonio Banderas / Lucy Liu
film Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever and from JoBlo.com
comes the poster for the new James Spader / Maggie Gyllenhall film Secretary.
Friday, August 2nd, 2002
From Empire Movies
once again comes 3 posters for the new film Chicago starring Renee
Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere.
