[Feb 26, 2006 2:30am]
The posters announced here on the main page are not the only regular
additions to the IMP site. Along with trying to get better versions of
the existing posters, the IMP is always trying to track down earlier posters,
filling in as many gaps as possible. If you check out the additions for
the last week or so, for instance, you will notice that we were recently
updating the poster images by such artists as John Alvin, Robert E. McGinnis,
Saul Bass, and Jack Davis.

from Luis we have the US poster for Kinky Boots.

Meanwhile, we had a lot of people write in regarding the new image, unveiled
by Sony Pictures,
of the black-suited Spider-man 3. It certainly has the makings of
the teaser poster, but at this point we're not sure if it will be or not.
French Indian, Knocking, Choir

Day of the Dead, Stoned, Look Both Ways
[Feb 22, 2006 2:50am]
A rather blurry version of the Day of the Dead poster has been
kicking around for quite some time, but as we just received a better quality
version we wanted to add it to the site. Also, we have new posters for
two international films receiving a limited North American release this
spring: the raunchy one sheet for the UK film Stoned and the poster
for the Australian film Look Both Ways. [thanks
to Luis for the last poster]
Lonesome Jim, Marilyn Hotchkiss
[Feb 22, 2006 2:50am]
From blackfilm
comes the North American poster for Steve Buscemi's Lonesome Jim.
A great idea to have the clouds on the wallpaper, with the one dark cloud
settled over Casey Affleck's head. Now if only they had left out Liv Tyler.
It just looks like she was slapped on there at the last moment. Also, from
MovieJungle
comes another poster for Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm
School.

Farrell and Salma Hayek. From IONCinema

for Beowulf & Grendel.

[Feb 15, 2006 9:20pm]
Although the movie Cry_Wolf has already come and gone in North
America, it will soon be coming out in Australia and has a completely different
poster than what was seen elsewhere so we thought we'd pass it along.

See No Evil
[Feb 15, 2006 2:00pm]
The horror films just keep coming and coming, with LGF
seeming to be one of the biggest suppliers of them of late. Here we have
the new poster for See No Evil.
French Pirates and American Haunting
[Feb 15, 2006 11:30am]
The basic artwork has been kicking around for the last week or so but

the poster for the new horror film Stay Alive.
World Trade Center, Summer Storm
[Feb 13, 2006 12:40am]
From Ain't It Cool
News comes the poster for Oliver Stone's World Trade Center
starring Nicolas Cage. The film is obviously going to stir up controversy
simply because of its basic subject matter, but the poster does a good
job of using subtlety to convey the basic idea of the film. [Thanks
to Nick for the heads up.] Also, we have the poster for the
German film Summer Storm which receives a US release in March.

[Feb 11, 2006 1:00am]

Wassup Rockers, This Film Is Not Yet Rated
[Feb 8, 2006 2:20pm]
From blackfilm
comes the one sheet for Wassup Rockers from the director of Kids.
Also, thanks to 'Johnny Guitar' for sending us the poster for the documentary
This
Film Is Not Yet Rated. Those uncomfortable seeing a naked (and branded)
female bottom should click no further. Interesting that the poster for
a film about ratings and censorship is likely to be deemed too inappropriate
to be displayed anywhere.
The Proposition, Dreamland
[Feb 7, 2006 4:20am]
Thanks to IONCinema
for passing along posters for two more films that screened at the recent
Sundance Film Festival: The Proposition starring Guy Pearce, Emily
Watson, and John Hurt as well as Dreamland.

Added the poster for God Grew Tired of Us, which just won the
Grand Jury Prize for best documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Hills Have Eyes
[Feb 6, 2006 11:40pm]
Thanks to Iain for passing along the new UK poster for the remake of
The
Hills Have Eyes. Is it just me or are some of the horror posters of
late just going a little too far? I can look at the dismembered limbs of
the Saw and Saw
II posters or the drill-swallowing guy of Hostel
with no problem. But this poster really disturbs me. Obviously that is
the whole point of it, but it just seems seriously wrong. I suppose it
is the utter fear in this woman's eyes that really does it. Maybe I'm sexist.
Would I be this disturbed if it was a man's face? Probably not. Interestingly
enough, it was only a few weeks ago that someone wrote in extremely upset
over a somewhat similar poster for Salvage.
Is the IMP just getting too squeamish or are some posters going too far?
Scary Movie 4
[Feb 6, 2006 9:30pm]
The other week an early copy of the new poster for Scary Movie 4
popped up on the internet. (The credits were all gibberish.) Now we finally
get to see the final version with the proper credits. It is directed by
David Zucker, not Emcvnef Dhbusj. The quote at the top is reminiscent of
the Douglas Adams book "Mostly Harmless", which was referred to as the
fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy.
French Running Scared, Winter Passing
[Feb 5, 2006 11:30pm]
Thanks to Cinempire
for passing along the new French poster for Running Scared which
seems to be trying to create a Fast and the Furious vibe. Also,
from JoBlo
comes the one sheet for Winter Passing starring Zooey Deschanel,
Ed Harris, and Will Ferrell.
Dr. Dolittle 3
[Feb 5, 2006 11:30pm]
It's not the best of quality and it may just be going straight to video
but, thanks to Mike Markus, here is the poster for Dr. Dolittle 3
with Eddie Murphy nowhere to be found.
Block Party
[Feb 4, 2006 2:20pm]

Block
Party. Also, the link to the fifth Nacho Libre poster has been
added below.
Weddings and Cigarettes
[Feb 3, 2006 10:20pm]
From Fox
Searchlight comes two news posters. First there's a high quality poster
for Confetti featuring six people apparently playing "king of the
wedding cake". Secondly, there is the great final poster for Thank You
For Smoking. A fine tagline for this one: Nick Taylor doesn't hide
the truth... he filters it.
Nacho Libre
[Feb 3, 2006 9:40pm]
A number of posters for the new Jack Black film Nacho Libre,
including two very hilarious ones with jack leaping in the air, have premiered
at different movie news sites: JoBlo,
ComingSoon,
AICN,
LatinoReview,
and Dark
Horizons.
Curious George, Tenants, Phat Girls

Moll. [Thanks to Luis for the heads
up.]
